The local Red Cross is deploying 15 volunteers from the Finger Lakes Region to help parts of the Northeast hit hard by Hurricane Sandy.

Two volunteers are also driving a Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle to the New York City area.

The Red Cross says it expects this effort to be a large and costly relief response that could impact several states.  The Red Cross is also accepting donations at 1-800-733-2767.  People can also text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
