Teacher Evaluation System Under Fire

They say it takes away from the very people they are trying to serve. It's a big issue that will dominate this week's education expo.
The new system evaluates a teacher based on student test performance. State leaders say it holds teachers and principals accountable, but not everyone agrees.
Teachers angry with the state's new teacher evaluation system. Many feel it focuses on testing, not learning, which harms the students education.
The system also known as the "annual performance review" evaulates teachers and principals based on students test performance and on in school observations.
Teachers could lose their job if students don't meet state standards.
