Election Committee Deems Ad Against Slaughter "Inaccurate"

By: WROC-TV
Updated: October 23, 2012
The Fair Elections Practices Committee has ruled portions of a third party campaign ad slamming Congresswoman Louise Slaughter are inaccurate.

The ad is from a super PAC that invested $1.4 million in local TV commercials. It claims Slaughter supported spending millions of taxpayer dollars on studying ants in Africa and snow-making in Vermont. In a letter to the committee, Slaughter's opponent, County Executive Maggie Brooks said her campaign had nothing to do with the ad. Brooks and Slaughter are in a heated battle for the 25th congressional district.
