Long-Time U of R Doctor Turns 99

A celebration was held this morning at the University of Rochester Medical Center for Dr. Morris Shapiro.

Dr. Shapiro turned 99 Sunday. He is the medical center's oldest active physician. He works with residents and students five days a week as a professor of emergency medicine. Dr. Shapiro graduated from medical school in 1938. He served as a physician in World War II and has been practicing medicine in Rochester since 1946.
