TJ Crye rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns plus he passed for another 102 yards and a score to lead (2)Avon over (3)Perry in a Class DD semifinal played at Avon Friday night.
Jake Martinez added 89 yards rushing and two touchdowns in addition to an interception return for a touchdown.
The highlight of the game may have come from Perry. In the third quarter, quarterback Cory Dillon threw a lateral out to Anthony Riccota who then threw a 40 yard touchdown to Jake Kiehle.
However, it was no garden variety double-pass. Kiehle had to tip the ball back to himself with one hand and then made the catch by pinning the ball onto his helmet and shoulder pad as he outraced the Avon defense the final ten yards to the end zone.
Perry moves on to face the winner of (1)Red Jacket and (4)Letchworth in next Saturday's sectional championship at Sahlen's Stadium.
