"I was let go in the middle of 2011 and spent several months job hunting and it was getting quite frustrating," said Domenic Rossi.
That's until EarthLink hired him.
"I started here in December of 2011 and it's been amazing to see that there's a company that's still hiring and actively hiring so many positions for the past year," said Rossi.
The growing IT services and communications company employs more than 3,200 people across the United States. Rochester is it's largest employee center with almost 500 employees. Since January, EarthLink has added 32 local jobs.
The company announced it will hire 50 more employees in Rochester by the end of 2012. Here's the reason why...
"Especially in these hard times where business customers have to variablize their cost because they are not sure what is changing in their business economy or their environment, they are relying much more on technology to be competitive to grow their businesses," said Mae Squier-Dow, President of Business Solutions.
According to the New York State Labor Department, professional and technical services, like EarthLink, saw the biggest gain in jobs over the past year.
"It's a growing market. Small to medium size businesses will spend 50 billion dollars in the next two years on IT services and cloud computing. We think that we are in here in the right time, and it's an exciting time for us," said Squier-Dow.
With the high demand of business customers, EarthLink also expanded their data center facility in Pittsford.
