Rochester Police Chief James Sheppard says the two homicides on the city's southeast side are drug-related.

It happened just before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday near the corner of Quincy Street and East Main Street. The two victims have been identified as Cameron Patterson, 19, and Russell Prout, 29. Patterson suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Prout was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Chief Sheppard said he believes the murders happened during the course of a robbery, but the investigation is still ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information to call 911.

The deaths mark the 33rd and 34th homicides this year in the city of Rochester.
