Elderly Man Injured in City House Fire

An elderly man suffered serious injuries in an overnight fire in Rochester.

The fire started in a home near the intersection of Remington Street and Wilkins Street just before 1:15 a.m. One person escaped, but firefighters found an 85-year-old man unconscious on the second floor. He was taken to Rochester General Hospital. His condition is not known. One firefighter also suffered a minor injury. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
