Officers Ryan Hartley and Rob Osipovitch are on administrative leave. It comes after a decision from Monroe County Court Judge Douglas Randall suppressing evidence from a drug investigation conducted in March.

The judge said inconsistencies between officer Hartley's testimony and the witnesses led him to side with the civilians.

Chief Sheppard says it's important to fully investigate the matter to maintain the public's trust, "anytime that there's allegations against an officer it does tend to impact the entire police department, and I think that is why it is important for us to conduct a fair and impartial complete internal, reach our conclusions, and deal with our consequences," said Sheppard.

District Attorney Sandra Doorley issued a statement Friday respectfully disagreeing with the judge, and supporting officer Hartley.

No word on how long the internal investigation will last.
