Although it seems early, now is the perfect time to apply for a seasonal job.
"In a quick survey we did, we would expect there's probably going to be somewhere around 600 to 700 seasonal jobs this year," said Mike Kauffman, Eastview Mall General Manager.
Training at most stores in Eastview Mall starts in October. Mike Kaufmann says department stores employ the most, but it's safe to say every store in the mall will be looking to hire.
"I think probably the best thing to do is take a walk over to the mall, go through the stores that you have some interest in working in, pop in, talk to a manager and find out the best way to get the process started," said Kauffman.
If the mall isn't your thing, Toys "R" Us is employing more than 45,000 people nationwide this year. If you break that down, it's about 3,600 in New York State and around 130 in Rochester alone.
Those jobs are for both Henrietta locations.
If you are looking for a store a little bit smaller and more local, Parkleigh on Park Avenue is looking for a dozen seasonal employees, possibly even more.
"We look for people who love being with people, who are good at sales, who like to sale, or have sales experience or maybe hospitality, or teaching experience, those seem to be good people that are qualified for the job here," said Daniel Mejak, Parkleigh Operations Manager.
If you want to get out of retail, there are 160 jobs up for grabs at the local postal services on Jefferson Road and Lyell Avenue. The deadline to apply is October 9.
There's more good news...it's not uncommon for seasonal jobs to turn into something more. A spokesperson for the Toys "R" Us says some positions could become permanent.
Last year, 15 percent of the holiday workforce kept their jobs after Christmas.
