Reports: Bills release punter Moorman

Veteran punter Brian Moorman is being released by the team on Tuesday, according to multiple reports. Moorman had a difficult start to the season, with his net average of 32.7 yards per punt near the bottom of the league.  According to reports, Shaun Powell. whom the Bills had at training camp at St. John Fisher, will replace him.  The ex-Florida State Seminole gave Moorman formidable competition this summer.

Moorman, a 12-year veteran, was the team's longest-tenured player on the roster. He joined the Bills in 2001 and quickly became a fan favorite with his booming punts. He was one of the best and most consistent players on the team throughout the last decade. In 2009, he was voted by fans to be the punter on the Bills' 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. He was also a two-time All-Pro (2005-06) and two-time Pro Bowler (2006-07).

In 2009, Moorman topped the elusive 40-yard mark in net punting average with an average of 40.2 yards per punt. He got close to the mark the year before
