A cancer study has researchers in our area excited.

The study is published in the journal "Nature," and it finds that one type of breast cancer is genetically similar to a type of ovarian cancers. Helene McMurray is a researcher at the Wilmot Cancer Center. The group's ultimate goal is to understand the commonalities or common factors across many different types of cancer. McMurray says the new study is extremely exciting for researchers because it implies that a treatment found for one might also be able to treat the other.
