Man Charged with 340 Counts of Sex Abuse

A former East Bloomfield man has been indicted on 340 counts of sex abuse.
Michael Lewis is accused of sexually abusing two young girls.
8 of those counts are predatory sex abuse charges -- due to the age of the victims and forcible nature of the allegations.
The two alleged victims were 12 and 13 at the time.
Prosecutors say the abuse happened between April of 2010 and November of 2011 at Lewis' home in East Bloomfield.
Ontario County Assistant District Attorney Jim Ritts said "A lot of times we trust people in our lives, and unfortunately they betray that trust. In this case it was betrayed in one of the worst possible ways, stealing the lives of children."
Lewis is being held in the Ontario County jail, his trial is set for late February.
