A Rochester man has been charged for allegedly starting a fire that injured three firefighters.

David Borreggine, 27, is charged with arson and three counts of assault. Investigators say he started the early Friday morning fire using an ignitable liquid at a home on McNaughton Street. One of the firefighters fighting the blaze fell through the floor onto two others. The home suffered significant smoke and water damage.

Borreggine was arraigned on the charges in Rochester City Court Wednesday. He remains in the Monroe County Jail.
