By: Andrew Banas
Updated: September 14, 2012
RG&E has begun the demolishing of Beebee Stack, the boiler stack located at its closed Beebee generation facility in Rochester.

Built in 1925, the 250-foot reinforced concrete stack hasn't been fired since 1999. Recent testing and inspection deemed the top portion of the stack to be a safety risk because of deterioration and it was determined it should be taken down.

RG&E eventually plans to decommission all of Beebee station.
