Grand Jury Indicts Suspects In Fairport Teacher Death

A grand jury has indicted the two suspects in the death of a Fairport teacher.

Mark Scerbo and Meagen Merkel are both charged in the death of Heather Boyum. According to court documents, both Merkel and Scerbo were drinking and driving. Police say Scerbo was riding recklessly on his motorcycle, while Merkerl was driving a car, on route 250 in Penfield. Boyum was riding her bicycle when she was struck first by Scerbo, then by Merkel. Both suspects are in the Monroe County Jail.
