On Tuesday at Ground Zero, the families of those killed read the names of their loved ones. There were moments of silence at the site where the World Trade Centers once stood. President Obama marked the Anniversary in Washington, DC. Addressing the crowds Obama stated:
"And even though we may never be able to filly lift the burden carried by those left behind, we know that somewhere a son is growing up with his father's eyes and a daughter has her mother's laugh. Living reminders that those who died are with us still."
A moment of silence was observed on Capital Hill. There was also a moment of silence at the Pentagon, in Shanksville, Pennsylvania and at ceremonies across the country.
