Kodak announced it will cut an additional 1,000 employees by the end of this year. The company has already cut some 2,700 jobs worldwide since the beginning of 2012. Kodak estimates the job cuts will result in about $330 million in savings.
Kodak will not say how many of those cuts will happen in the Rochester area. The company has not ruled out more layoffs as it works to emerge from bankruptcy.
