Fire crews said she was walking along the trail around nine Sunday night when she slipped and fell down a steep hill.
She fell around seventy feet into the gorge and got caught up in the trees.
Special rescue teams with the Rochester Fire Department responded quickly to bring her to safety.
"It took a little less than an hour which under these conditions, being nighttime and the rope work these gentleman had to do was phenomenal. I can't say enough about the work these gentlemen had to do tonight," said Battalion Chief Mark Strzyzynski.
Fire crews said despite being tangled in the trees she was able to get to her cell phone and call for help.
