Toddler Attacked by Dog

A Rochester toddler is recovering after she was bitten in the face by a dog.

Jayden's dad calls it a freak accident. On Saturday morning, 3-year-old Jayden Forrester was at her grandmother's house for a cookout. Jayden was inside when the family heard screams.

"I had to grab the jaws. I had to open his mouth wide enough, so that her mother could pull her out because he grabbed her and was locked onto her face," said Justin Forrester.

Jayden was rushed to Strong Hospital. Her upper jaw was separated from the skull. Her lower jaw was broken. Five teeth were missing. Both cheekbones were crushed and a tear duct was torn.

"She's got some tubes in her nasal passages to hold them open. I mean everything was gone. It was just horrible," said Forrester.

Now, Justin is worried because his insurance does not cover all the expenses they'll have in the future. They're asking for help with an online fundraiser.

"I believe she deserves to have every opportunity afforded to her that she had before this happened. I just want her to be my little girl. I want her to look the way that she was created," said Forrester.

Animal Control has the dog. Justin says it will likely be put down. As for Jayden, her father says she could be in the hospital for the next several months.

That someone who knows nothing about my son would make comments on what type of parent he is and what he spends his income on? First off this was Jaydens Aunts dog who was raised in a loving home and had been around Jayden all her life,Jayden would climb on pet and love this animal with no problem. She was sitting next to the dogs owner when it happened, not left alone unattended.As for spending his income, he is a tattoo artist, he spend NOTHING on Tattoo's and it is judgemental people like you that think they know what someone is about by looking at them!! You are the loser!! did you listen to any of the interviews my son did and how well spoken he is? You did not hear him use DUDE. I feel sorry for your Chidren if you have any for you are teaching them that they should judge a person on what they look like not who they are!! Poor Jayden will have to endure people like you her whole life who will judge her by her scars and not on the content of her character!

First of all unless you know the family personally why dont you shut up. Second of all having tattoos doesn't make you a bad father. Justin can't be blamed for this. If it wasnt for him acting the way that he did that baby might not be alive. And as for the pitbull it was a family dog and I'm sorry but go check your facts because pitts are NOT the only dog in the world to attack people. You just hear more about them. The fact that Justin and his family are going through this and you want to sit there and talk [censored] because it was a pitt and he has tattoos. You really act cold hearted because this is not the time or place for you to go on some rant about how young adults in society look or act. Ive been around pitts half my life. My adopted mother raises pitt bulls and my nieces and nephews sleep with one every night. My brothers pitt saved my nieces life when she had a seizure. EMS said if it had not been for that dog, my niece would have died. This is where the whole ban the deed not the breed comes in. Its all about blood lines and how they were raised. You sir need a reality check, this is a story about a little girl fighting for her life and you want to come blame it on the parents. Get a life "dude"

First, I am furious that a parent would be so careless to have a toddler play around a Pit Bull, second, I am furious that this horrible thing has happened to a child due to the reckless and casual attitude of adults regarding Pit Bulls, how many people have to be killed or disfigured because of these animals, third, I think the father should spend his income more responsibly. Put more of your dollars toward medical insurance and less on the disfiguring tattoos. Sends out message of immaturity and irresponsibility. Does this make you angry? Grow up, look around you, you send a message or "Looser","Looser". Think I am judgmental, handle it dude! Care for your family and that sweet little girl and stop caring about how cool and current you look!!!!!!!
