Teachers in the Fairport School District are going back to class with heavy hearts.

They are preparing for class after the death of a teacher earlier this year. Heather Boyum was killed in Penfield after she was hit by a car. She was a science teacher at Fairport High School. She is being remembered by her colleagues who are wearing ribbons in Boyum's honor. On Friday, the school will hold a ceremony honoring Boyum. That will happen at Fairport High School September 7th at the end of the school day.
