A Buffalo man who was allegedly caught using counterfeit money tried to eat the bills to get rid of it.

Larry Jones, 35, is charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument and tampering with evidence. Genesee County Sheriff deputies say Jones tried to purchase french fries from a food stand at Darien Lake amusement park. The food clerk believed that the money was counterfeit and flagged security. While in the custody of the park security, deputies say Jones started to eat five other $50 bills.

Jones remains in the Genesee County Jail without bail.
