All kids in public schools have to get physicals and vaccines before the start of the new school year. Different vaccines are mandatory for certain age groups. Sleep is another big factor this time of year. Doctors at Elmwood Pediatrics in Brighton say now is the time to get your kid back into a good sleeping habit.
"My recommendation is to start moving the children back about 15 minutes to a half hour a day so that by the time school starts they're accustomed to the time that they need to go to bed," said Dr. Anne Francis. "That also means you have to get them up in the morning a little bit earlier in the day as well."
The back-to-school season is the busiest time of year for pediatricians.
