The bodies of an elderly couple were found this morning on North Road in Wheatland.
Deputies say the couple was found on their bed, and two handguns were used in the shootings.
Their names have not been released. Deputies did not find a note on the scene.
We know they were both between 85 and 90-years-old, and both had been sick for some time.
Deputies tell us they were not physically handicapped, but they were not in good health.
The couple's daughter told detectives she last spoke with them at 11 o'clock Monday night. They gave no indication that anything was wrong. She found her parents 12 hours later in their bedroom.
Major Steve Koster said "Routine visit, check on the parents. They were both elderly they both had significant medical conditions and it was part of her 'daughterly habits' if you will, to check in the parents."
Right now, deputies believe the husband shot his wife, but the medical examiner is working to determine the exact cause of their deaths.
