Three Rescued From Erie Canal

Police say a John Clanton and his two kids Sam, 8, and Selah, 7, were out walking on the trails by the canal. The two children were inside a double stroller and police say somehow the stroller when over the high walls at the canal. Clanton jumped in immediately. Police say some U of R first-year medical students also jumped in and they were able to hoist the stroller up above the water until rescuers arrived. Another passerby called 911.
Hospital officials tell us that Clanton has been treated and released. His son Sam is still being evaluated. His daughter Selah is listed in guarded condition.
