The Fairport library is expected to reopen on Wednesday after a small indoor flood.

The library says one sprinkler went off late Monday night and caused some flooding.

The damage was contained to the children's section.

It damaged some books, soaked a couch, and also the carpet.

Librarians spent the day sorting through piles of books to look for damage.

They believe only about 40 to 50 books were ruined but they say they can all be replaced.

The librarians say even though the damage was minimal, it is still heartbreaking to lose books.

They are unsure what caused the sprinkler to go off.
