Working together to fight crime more efficiently was the theme behind a meeting of law enforcement officers Tuesday at St. John Fisher College. It was hosted by U.S. Attorney William Hochul.

Men and women from 17 different counties attended this morning's "Law Enforcement Summit", the 2nd annual in Western New York.

Several of those counties made presentations at the closed door event, offering information to their colleagues. While they might be from very urban or rural areas, they compared notes on the crime trends they share and the best way to find solutions to their challenges.

U.S. Attorney Hochul says the information shared Tuesday would be especially useful if a mass shooting like the recent ones in Colorado and Wisconsin happened. It would help departments with issues like assessing the threat, taking care of the crime scene and identifying and arresting any other suspects.
