Two Arrested For String of Robberies

Two men are facing charges for a spree of robberies across the Irondequoit area.

Abnel Maldonado, 26, and Wilberto Melendez Ortega, 33, are both charged with robbery and grand larceny. Irondequoit Police say the two suspects committed a series of robberies at several retail locations, including Family Dollar, Subway, Rainbow Kids and Dunkin Donuts. The eight robberies happened all at gunpoint between July 2nd and July 30th.

Maldonado and Ortega remain in the Monroe County Jail on $50,000 bail. They will be back in court on August 6th.
