Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn says, "Our hearts go out to the victims in Aurora Colorado. All indications at this time appear that this is the act of one individual and not a part of a broader pattern of crime.
The Sheriff's Office provides directed patrol to all commercial areas and will provided special attention to the local theaters.
We would like to remind the public that the best way to defend against an act of violence such as this is to become involved before the suspect has the opportunity to act.
We encourage the public to call 911 if they have knowledge of any suspicious activity, someone who is demonstrating unusual behavior, or whom is talking about committing any act of violence."
