Rochester Police have released the name of the city's latest homicide victim.  Police say 29-year-old Omar Lynch was shot dead on Renwood Street around 10 o'clock Wednesday night.

Officers were called to Renwood Street for the report of a person shot. Police say the victim was found in a grassy area between the sidewalk and the road.

Lynch was taken to Rochester General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Officers say he suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Officers say just prior to the shooting Lynch was at a nearby location where he had recently been staying. Police say Lynch was found outside the home by his friends.

Officers say they do not have any suspects in custody. They are still investigating. The shooting death marks Rochester's 22nd homicide of 2012.

Now the same "activists" calling increased police presence a cause for racial profiling will gather and call for an end to the violence. Perhaps they should consider doing something productive - like actually getting involved with young people in their community instead of making baseledd accusations and making statements.
