Part of I-390 Dedicated As "Sgt. Devin Snyder Memorial Highway"

Governor Cuomo has dedicated part of I-390 in Steuben County in tribute to a local soldier killed in Afghanistan.
The governor signed new legislation that dedicates part of the interstate as "Sergeant Devin Snyder Memorial Highway." Snyder was a native of Cohocton who was killed in an explosion in Afghanistan in June 2011. She was the first female soldier from western New York to die in the war. Governor Cuomo says the dedication is only fitting for Snyder's service.
"As we mark our nation's founding this July 4th, we must honor the lives of fallen service members," Cuomo said. "I am pleased that Sergeant Snyder's memory and sacrifice will be forever recognized with the renaming of a portion of Route I-390."
