The Greater Rochester Association of Realtors says if you're looking to sell your house now is a great time to do so.
Rochester, NY - Realtors have seen a 9 percent up tick in sales in the 11 counties in the Rochester region this quarter.
It caused some communities to see home sales increase by 30 to 50 percent. Low interest rates, reasonable home prices are key to this trend according to experts.
However, they believe the mild winter also helped get more buyers out and about
"The weather's been great we could go out in January and we weren't freezing," Garry Britton with Nothnagle Realty said. "So the market started earlier. Started right in January when usually it will start in March."
Although the number of homes sold increased, that wasn't really the case for the price of homes.
The Greater Rochester Association of Realtors say in the 11-county region the average price of a home remained at about $115,000.
They expect the trend will continue next quarter.
