$300,000 to Expand Green Industry in Wayne Co.

By: WROC-TV
Updated: September 15, 2008

A $300,000 state grant will go toward developing an environmentally-friendly industrial park off of Route 104 in Wayne County.

The money will go to developing a 40-acre site in Ontario that is home to, among others, Harbec Plastics.  Harbec has successfully harnessed wind power, and now the goal is to have other companies take its lead and build around it.  About 100 people work at Harbec.

The money will be used for infrastructure - such as roads and utilities.

Other companies on site include Sustainable Energy Developments and Northern BioDiesel.
