The Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival starts Friday.
Crews spent their week doing their final preparations.
More than 300 concerts will be held during this year's festival, and many of them are free. More than 30 concerts will happen Friday night.
The opening headliner is Diane Krall. She performs at 8 p.m. at the Eastman Theatre to a sold-out crowd.
Organizers say attendance continues to grow. Last year, about 182,000 people attended.
"The amount of support we have gotten every single year and the true fans that come out and that are willing to wait in line hours before the show starts, we are just so grateful and we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them," said Amanda Antinore, publicist.
The festival runs for nine days and headliners this year include acts like Steve Martin, Esperanza Spalding, and Daryl Hall.
Organizers say they had a record number of sold-out headlining shows this year.
