Brockport Voting on Proposed Code Enforcement Change

Brockport voters headed to the polls Tuesday to decide a contentious issue in village government.
There was a line out of the door when News 8 stopped by. The question is who should code enforcement officers report to: the Mayor or the police chief? This all goes back to the arrest of Brockport Mayor Connie Castaneda in March. Police say she broke code when she illegally rented rooms in her house to college students. Castaneda is suing the village over the arrest. Voters say they are not happy about this issue.
