Eleven years after the old Genesee Hospital closed, the site on Monroe Avenue and Alexander Street in Rochester has been transformed into a thriving business park.

City leaders are thrilled, but former hospital employees still miss their old home.  Wednesday night at King's Bend Park in Pittsford, over 100 former Genesee Hospital employees gathered for their annual reunion.  "We were like family at the hospital and to see everyone again is just wonderful," said Shirley Reber, who worked as a Senior Vice President at the hospital.

In 2001, Genesee Hospital closed after serving the Rochester community for over a century.  "I enjoyed it very much," said Dr. David Kluge, who was a general surgeon at the hospital for 35 years.  "It was a wonderful experience, wonderful hospital."
