New Signs up at Former Kodak Theatre

By: WROC-TV
Updated: June 13, 2012
The Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California is now operating under a new name.

It is still the home of the Academy Awards, but it is now the Dolby Theatre. The theatre also has new technology. The theatre's owner, the CIM Group, has signed a 20-year deal to take over the naming rights. The deal will run through 2033. Dolby, an audio technology company, has earned numerous academy award nods for sound quality over the last three decades.

Kodak gave up naming rights to the theatre as part of its bankruptcy proceedings.
