Charlie Arnone was diagnosed in March. He has a leg tumor the size of a baseball. He is undergoing treatment, which is causing him to miss his senior year of varsity baseball. Charlie's sister Veronica, along with the Wilson Athletic Department, held a softball game Tuesday afternoon. Nearly 50 athletes and other students participated in the game. The school was selling bracelets, t-shirts and game tickets to raise money to help pay for medical expenses.
The Wilson Athletic Department says it has already raised about $1,200 to cover the medical bills. That number is expected to increase after the team adds up all the tickets sold for Tuesday's game.
