Hundreds of people remembered a retired Gates Police Officer who was killed earlier this month. Sonny Chung died on June 2nd after being hit by a car while walking down the sidewalk on West Ridge Road.

His brothers in blue gathered for a public memorial at Roberts Wesleyan College Monday evening.

Officer Chung made the same impression on everyone he knew as an energetic man who wanted to be part of everything life had to offer, and would stop at nothing to make it happen.

Officer Sonny Chung retried from the Gates Police Department after an accident in 2002 left him with a brain injury. He also served on the Rochester Police Department.

Another one of Chung's passions was the Gates Keystone Club Police Pipes and Drums band. He played the tenor drum.

Chung was 47 years old.
