Tommy Wagner and Jon Simmons hit home runs as Victor held on to beat Penfield 5-3 in the Class AA State Qualifier Saturday at Nietopski Field in the Town of Sweden.

Matt Portland got Victor out of a 5th inning jam with a pair of strikeouts and pitched the final two and two-thirds innings to save it for the Blue Devils. All eight outs recorded by Portland were strikeouts.

Victor (20-4) will play Lancaster of Section VI in the Class AA Far West Regional at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dwyer Stadium in Batavia. The winner advances to Saturday's state Final Four at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton.
