A Tuesday night shooting claimed one life and critically injured another on Jay Street.

Rochester Police responded around 7:45 p.m. and found two male victims lying in a vacant lot. Police have not released the name of either victim, but the deceased is a 25-year-old and the other is a 23-year-old. Both suffered gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Police believe the shooting stemmed from a big dice game on nearby Smith Street, where a fight subsequently broke out. Police say the two victims fled the fight and were followed by unknown suspects.
