Tips to Plan a Simple Budget

Robert Chapman, CPA, PFS, CMA of Compass Wealth, joined Katrina Irwin on News 8 at Sunrise Monday. 

He talked about April being National Financial Literacy Month.

Now is a good time to get a budget in place.

Chapman says a good way to start is by saving 50% of your income for essentials. 20% for financial priorities, like 401K's, etc.

That leaves 30% for lifestyle choices.
