We continue our trek through Pittsford in this month's Living Here. This week, we take you a yoga studio that is also a boutique, kitchen and spa! Stacey Pensgen reports.
There's one business in the village that started from the ground up right here 10 years ago, and you can literally spend an entire day here. I'm referring to Breathe Yoga - which opened its first location a decade ago this Thanksgiving.
"We've always been in Pittsford, and we've always been in this location but it started in the back," said Abby Weis. "It started out just kind of as a hobby and my mom opened it just a small juice bar, very small boutique and a yoga studio, and over the past 10 years we've grown from 1500 square feet to over 6000 square feet."
Every aspect of the business has also expanded.
"Our juice bar has grown into a full teaching kitchen with a full time chef, a full time baker and a full time assistant," said Weis.
There's a lot going on under this roof.
"It's kind of like a one stop shop. You really can spend the day here. You can do a yoga class, get an acupuncture appointment, have lunch, shop, have a massage, go home. It's ideal."
And the Weis family thinks it's an ideal location here in the village of Pittsford.
"I think the village of Pittsford and Pittsford in general is a really special and unique town with lots of great people and lots of great opportunities, and when my mom thought of where she wanted to own her business it was always Pittsford," said Weis.
Breathe has two other locations -- in Webster and a new
one in Rochester, but Weis says their Pittsford location will always be their
home base.
Breathe is expanding again. It will be opening "Breathe at Home" -- its first home furnishing store at its flagship Pittsford location.
