Brockport Mayor Arrested

Brockport Village Mayor Maria Connie Castaneda was arrested Friday and charged with 14 counts of Official Misconduct.   Castaneda was also charged with numerous violations of the Village Code, and the New York State Property Maintenance Code.

Castaneda lives at 322 Main Street in Brockport.  There was a police presence at her home Friday evening.  Also arrested was Norman Giancursio.  He was charged with Reckless Endangerment.

Police say their investigation began in December based on tips from unnamed individuals.  The Monroe County Sheriff's Office and the Monroe County D.A.'s office assisted.
