By: WROC-TV
Updated: March 4, 2012
The Republican candidates hit the campaign trail today, just days before "Super Tuesday."

Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney is the projected winner in the Washington caucus, with 37 percent of the vote so far. Former Senator Rick Santorum and Rep. Ron Paul are in a close battle for second.  Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is last.

The state has 40 delegates at stake. All of the candidates hope that a strong finish tonight will give them momentum on Tuesday.
