(1)Aquinas went on a 10-2 run in the third quarter to take the lead for good and then had to hold off mulitple (4)Hilton challenges in a 72-63 Class AA1 semifinal at Roberts Wesleyan Tuesday night.
Hilton led by six midway through the third quarter before the Irish had their spurt--capped by a Christian White circus layup--that gave Aquinas a 50-48 lead heading to the fourth.
The league bulged to six before back to back baskets from Hilton. Nadale Fowlks hit a three to pull Hilton within 58-57.
The teams exchanged a flurry of buckets until Aquinas finally took control. Kyron Allen's layup with two minutes left made it 68-61 Lil' Irish and they put the game away with free throws.
Aquinas will face (3)Schroeder in Saturday's final.
