Updated: February 9, 2012
Eastman Kodak is closing the door on its camera business.

The company will cease development of digital cameras, video cameras  and digital picture frames within the next six months. Their focus will now be on photo printing and inkjet printing. The company says they will continue to honor warranties and provide support for their products. A Kodak spokesperson says about 400 jobs worldwide are affected by this move, the majority of which are based in Rochester. The spokesperson says there will be "significant job cuts."

Kodak expects this decision to save them more than $100 million.

Am I the ONLY person in Rochester with their eyes open?? Kodak has been systematically moving out of Rochester since 1986 when they lost to Polariod. Little by little. Moves to Mexico. Overseas. Not keeping up with going into the digital age.Changes in managementover and over.Do some deep soil testing at that 'park' on Weat ridge by the Peppermill Rest. and over behind Rand streetby the parking lot just inside the fence. Wher Synthetic chemical Div was. EPA could have a field day with the poison in that soil.Get REAL Rochester. Kodak have been wittling down its size and will keep doing so till its ALL gone. Thats been their plan all along. Each new management gets in, get their money out and gets out. THen the next comes in.Kodak Park, Elmgrove may have the great name of Kodak but nothing else.No connection to the great film and camera giant. The rulers of Kodak haven't cared for any of its workers or Rochester for years. Do the research. Your sources at the news stations is better than mine.Look into it for yourselves.
