This Greece bakery turns 65 this year -- and while its location may have changed -- Greece has always been its home. Here's News 8's Amanda Ciavarri with Living Here.
Since 1947 Jackson's Bakery in Greece has been selling everything from cookies and pastries to danishes and breads. Jim Symonds is the owner now, but his father started the business. Symonds says they are a unique bakery in this area.
For the past 65 years this business has moved buildings. But
they've always called Greece home.
"It's been great the community has been wonderful to us. We have a very strong cliental, which helps me keep the prices low. I can almost predict who's gonna walk in which helps me figure out how much is needed to be produced."
Symonds says the best part of owning his bakery is watching the customers' reactions to all his tasty treats.
"I do appreciate when the customers express their appreciation. I'm a baking nut. I love baked goods and I love to see the result," said Symonds.
