Wings/Twins sign 8 free agents

The Rochester Red Wings announced today that the Minnesota Twins have signed RHP Jared Burton, RHP Samuel

Deduno, LHP Phil Dumatrait, RHP Luis Perdomo, RHP Brandon Wise, OF Matt Carson, OF Brian Dinkelman and OF Wilkin

Ramirez to minor league deals.

Burton, 30, started the 2011 season on the Cincinnati Reds disabled list recovering from right shoulder surgery. Burton was

2-0 with a 4.15 ERA in 11 games with Triple-A Louisville and 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA in six games for Cincinnati. Burton has

spent parts of the last five seasons with the Cincinnati Reds, going 10-3 with a 3.40 ERA in 158 Major League appearances.

Deduno, 28, spent last season in the San Diego Padres organization spending most of the season with Triple-A Tucson.

Deduno, who made the San Diego Padres 2011 Opening Day roster out of spring training, went 4-6 with a 3.93 ERA in 40

games (12 starts) for Tucson while going 0-0 with a 3.00 ERA in two games for the Padres. Deduno was originally signed

by the Colorado Rockies as a non-drafted free agent in 2003 and was named the 2009 Texas League Pitcher of the Year by

claiming the league's pitching Triple crown while playing for Double-A Tulsa (12-4 record with a 2.57 ERA and 123

strikeouts). Deduno has appeared in six Major League games (San Diego and Colorado), going 0-0 with a 3.18 ERA.

Dumatrait, 30, spent last season splitting the season between Triple-A Rochester and the Minnesota Twins. Dumatrait was

0-1 with four saves and a 1.15 ERA in 15 games for Rochester before being promoted to Minnesota on May 16. Dumatrait

spent the rest of the 2011 season with the Twins, going 1-3 with one save and a 3.92 ERA in 45 games.

Perdomo, 27, spent last season in the San Diego Padres organization spending the entire season with Triple-A Tucson.

Perdomo, who was originally signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Cleveland Indians in 2003, went 0-8 with 10 saves

and a 5.40 ERA in 65 games for Tucson.

Wise, 25, spent last season in the Detroit Tigers organization spending the entire season with Triple-A Toledo. Wise, who

was originally drafted in the 8th round of the 2005 draft by Detroit, went 5-2 with one save and a 1.90 ERA in 50 games for

Toledo.

Carson, 30, spent last season splitting the season between Triple-A Sacramento (Oakland A's) and Triple-A Durham Tampa

Bay Rays). Carson batted .285 with 19 home runs and 65 RBI in 90 games with Sacramento before being traded July 31st to

the Tampa Bay Rays for cash considerations. With Triple-A Durham Carson batted .250 with five home runs and 10 RBI in

22 games. Carson's combined numbers for the 2011 season was .279 with 24 home runs and 75 RBI.

Dinkelman, 28, spent last season splitting the season between Triple-A Rochester and the Minnesota Twins. Dinkelman

batted .243 with three home runs and 41 RBI in 127 games for Rochester and batted .301 with four RBI in 22 games with the

Twins.

Ramirez, 26, spent last season in the Atlanta Braves organization spitting the season between Triple-A Gwinnett and the

Atlanta Braves. Ramirez batted .267 with 11 home runs, 36 RBI and
