Letchworth advances to its first football state semifinal after Ryan Owens threw two touchdown passes to senior Christian Coniglio as the Indians beat Maple Grove 30-14 in the Class D State Quarterfinals at Sahlen's Stadium.

Chris Nevinger ran for two touchdowns for the Indians, who lost in this round of the high school playoffs each of the previous two seasons. Letchworth's time of possession was more than 31 minutes, almost more than double Maple Grove's.

Owens was named most valuable offensive player of the game after he completed 13 of 14 passes for 185 yards, including his scoring throws to Coniglio. The senior also kicked a 25-yard field goal that moved Letchworth ahead 16-14 in the third quarter.

Nevinger finished with 164 yards rushing and completed a 28-yard pass to Colby Arnold in the fourth quarter for a touchdown.
